1Question

Tell me about a time you exceeded sales targets - what strategies did you use?

In Q3 last year, I was tasked with achieving £85k quarterly sales but was tracking 12% behind by month two. I analysed my customer data and identified that my conversion rate from initial contact to sale was only 65%. I implemented a new follow-up system, calling prospects within 24 hours and sending personalised product recommendations. I also started conducting more face-to-face meetings, increasing my weekly client visits from 8 to 12. This approach built stronger relationships and trust. By quarter end, I had achieved £96k in sales, exceeding my target by 13% and ranking second in the regional team.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to build trust with a difficult customer

A trade contractor was frustrated after receiving incorrect measurements from our previous designer, causing a £1,200 project delay. He was considering switching suppliers entirely. I immediately arranged a site visit within 48 hours, personally re-measured the entire kitchen space, and identified the original error. I then worked with our production team to expedite a replacement order at no extra cost and provided daily updates on progress. I also implemented a double-check system for all his future orders. Within 6 weeks, he had placed three additional orders worth £4,800, and now refers two new customers monthly to our depot.
