1Question

Tell me about a time when you exceeded a challenging sales target

Last year, I was tasked with achieving £180,000 in quarterly sales for our home improvement division, which was 25% higher than the previous quarter due to market challenges. I analysed our customer database and identified 40 dormant accounts that hadn't purchased in 8 months. I developed a targeted reactivation campaign, making personal calls to understand their current needs and offering tailored solutions. Through this focused approach and building stronger relationships with existing clients, I achieved £205,000 in sales, exceeding the target by 14% and securing three long-term contracts worth £85,000 annually.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to build trust with a difficult customer

I worked with a trade contractor who had experienced poor service from our company previously, resulting in a £12,000 project delay. He was reluctant to place new orders and questioned every recommendation. I scheduled a face-to-face meeting, acknowledged the previous issues, and provided a detailed action plan with weekly progress updates. I personally oversaw his next £8,500 kitchen project, ensuring 48-hour response times to queries and delivering 3 days ahead of schedule. This rebuilt his confidence, and he became one of our top 10 customers, placing £45,000 in orders over the following 6 months.
