We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected engineering business that has built an outstanding reputation within a robust and growing industry. With a number of long-standing clients and a strong order book, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hydraulics Fitter to join a stable organisation that invests in its people and provides long-term career prospects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the assembly, maintenance, repair, and testing of hydraulic systems and components, ensuring equipment is delivered to the highest standards of quality and reliability.

The Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems and components.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, motors, and associated equipment.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Conduct pressure testing and performance testing of hydraulic equipment.
  • Strip, inspect, refurbish, and rebuild hydraulic components.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety standards and company procedures.
  • Liaise with colleagues and customers where required to provide technical support and solutions.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Hydraulics Fitter, Hydraulic Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and fault-finding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Experience repairing and rebuilding hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, and motors.
  • Good mechanical fitting and assembly skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).

Desirable Requirements

  • Relevant engineering or mechanical qualification.
  • Experience within industrial, manufacturing, plant, marine, or heavy engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems.
  • Experience working in a workshop and/or field service environment.
