1Question

Tell me about a time you had to work flexibly to meet customer needs

When working at a busy retail store during Christmas period, we had a last-minute request from 12 customers needing gift wrapping services on a Saturday evening. Despite being scheduled to finish at 6pm, I volunteered to stay an additional 2 hours to complete all the gift wrapping. I organised the wrapping station efficiently, processed all 12 orders within 90 minutes, and ensured each package met our presentation standards. The customers were delighted, and my manager praised my flexibility and customer-first approach, which resulted in 3 customers specifically requesting me for future services.
2Question

Describe a situation where your attention to detail prevented a problem

While working in a warehouse environment, I noticed that 5 boxes of electronic equipment had slightly damaged packaging during my quality check routine. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the internal protective foam had shifted, potentially causing £2,400 worth of damage to the electronics inside. I immediately flagged this to my supervisor and helped repackage all affected items with fresh protective materials. This prevented the damaged goods from reaching customers and avoided potential returns or complaints. My supervisor implemented my suggestion to add an additional packaging check, which reduced damage reports by 15% over the following quarter.
