1Question

Tell me about a time when attention to detail prevented a significant error

While reviewing monthly client invoices for a 45-client portfolio, I noticed a £2,400 discrepancy in patent renewal fees that had been incorrectly calculated. I immediately cross-referenced the original fee schedule against our billing system and discovered a data entry error from three months prior. I corrected the error, updated all affected client accounts, and implemented a double-check procedure that reduced billing errors by 95% over the following six months. This prevented potential client complaints and maintained our reputation for accuracy.
2Question

How do you prioritise your workload when handling multiple tasks?

I use a systematic approach based on deadlines and client impact. For example, when managing 120 case files simultaneously, I created a priority matrix categorising tasks by urgency and importance. Patent deadline submissions received immediate priority, followed by client correspondence within 24 hours, then monthly reporting tasks. I maintained a daily task list and reviewed priorities each morning, which helped me achieve a 98% on-time completion rate while handling an average of 25 tasks per day across multiple jurisdictions.
