1Question

Tell me about a time you led a complex design project with multiple stakeholders

I led the UX redesign of a fintech mobile app serving 85,000 users across 3 markets. The project involved coordinating with product managers, developers, compliance teams, and regional stakeholders with conflicting priorities. I established weekly design reviews and created interactive Figma prototypes to align everyone on user flows. When compliance raised concerns about our streamlined onboarding, I conducted user testing with 24 participants to demonstrate that our design maintained security whilst reducing drop-off by 31%. The final solution launched 2 weeks ahead of schedule and increased user activation by 42%.
2Question

Describe a situation where user research changed your initial design approach

I was designing a dashboard for logistics managers and initially focused on data visualisation assuming they needed comprehensive analytics. However, user interviews with 18 managers revealed they spent 80% of their time on exception handling, not analysis. I pivoted to an alert-first design with quick action buttons. A/B testing showed the new approach reduced task completion time from 4.2 to 1.8 minutes. The client reported £180,000 in operational savings within 6 months due to faster issue resolution across their 12 distribution centres.
