1Question

Tell me about a time you had to take full ownership of a marketing function

When I joined a growing property development company, their marketing was fragmented across different agencies with no central strategy. I took complete ownership by first auditing all existing activities and identifying £8,400 in wasted ad spend. I brought everything in-house, developed a unified digital strategy, and personally managed Google Ads, social media, and email campaigns. Within 6 months, I increased qualified leads by 65% while reducing overall marketing costs by 22%. This experience taught me the importance of having clear ownership and accountability in marketing roles.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to align marketing activities with business stakeholder goals

Our sales team was struggling with lead quality from marketing campaigns, with only 18% of leads converting to meetings. I organised weekly alignment sessions with the sales director and operations manager to understand their ideal customer profile. I then restructured our Google Ads targeting and created specific landing pages for different service areas. I also implemented lead scoring in our CRM and provided weekly reports showing lead quality metrics. This collaboration resulted in lead-to-meeting conversion improving to 34% within 3 months, and sales revenue from marketing leads increased by £95,000 that quarter.
