1Question

Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer during a delivery

A wholesale customer in Brighton was frustrated because their delivery was 45 minutes late due to traffic. They needed the stock for their evening rush. I immediately apologised and explained the delay, then offered to help them prioritise unloading the most urgent items first. I worked quickly to get their essential products - bread and milk - onto their shelves within 10 minutes. I also provided them with my supervisor's contact details for future concerns. The customer appreciated my proactive approach and thanked me for prioritising their business needs. This experience taught me that communication and quick problem-solving can turn a negative situation into a positive customer relationship.
2Question

How do you handle working weekends and varied shift patterns?

In my previous delivery role, I worked rotating shifts including weekends for 18 months. I developed a structured approach by planning my personal schedule around confirmed work patterns and maintaining consistent sleep routines regardless of shift times. I found weekend work actually beneficial as roads were quieter, making deliveries more efficient. I used a weekly planner to track my shifts and ensured I communicated availability clearly with my supervisor. This approach helped me maintain 100% attendance over my contract period. I understand retail operations require weekend coverage, and I'm fully committed to supporting Booker's 7-day operation to ensure customers receive their stock when needed.
