Your Role and Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
- Conducting operational and construction field surveys at power generation facilities, assessing inherent risk and auditing risk prevention and mitigation controls
- Developing clear and practical loss prevention recommendations to reduce property damage and business interruption exposures
- Presenting technical findings, risk analysis conclusions and recommendations to site management teams
- Producing accurate, timely and detailed technical reports using structured reporting formats, loss estimation methodologies and risk rating tools
- Carrying out desktop risk analysis by reviewing and interpreting third-party technical documentation and risk data
- Explaining survey findings and risk assessments to underwriters to support effective risk selection and underwriting decisions
- Managing survey programmes for assigned industry clients, including service planning, coordination, report review and stewardship meetings
- Producing Account Summary Reports and supporting underwriters in applying findings to underwriting strategy
- Peer reviewing survey reports and account reviews to maintain quality and technical consistency
- Analysing loss events to understand root causes and applying key learnings to future risk assessments
- A minimum of 10 years’ industrial experience within power plant operations, engineering or maintenance, or experience with a boiler, gas turbine or electrical transformer manufacturer
- Strong health, safety and environmental awareness (NEBOSH and familiarity with ISO standards advantageous)
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, standards, procedures and industry best practices
- Demonstrable experience leading insurance risk surveys and building strong working relationships in the field
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues and their impact on loss potential
- Strong organisational, documentation and IT capabilities
- Ability to deliver high-quality survey reports and account reviews within agreed timelines
- Willingness and ability to undertake international travel
- Physical capability to conduct on-site inspections, including working at height, climbing ladders and wearing appropriate safety equipment in varied climates and environments
