1Question

Tell me about a time you had to influence senior leaders on a compensation decision

When our EMEA division was experiencing 28% turnover in software engineering roles, I conducted comprehensive market analysis using three salary survey sources. I discovered we were 15% below market median for senior engineers. I prepared a business case showing the £180,000 annual cost of turnover versus £120,000 for market adjustments. I presented to the executive team with competitor data and retention projections. The CFO initially resisted due to budget constraints, but I demonstrated the ROI would be positive within 8 months. The proposal was approved, and we implemented the adjustments, reducing engineering turnover to 12% within six months.
2Question

Describe a situation where you managed multiple compensation projects simultaneously

During Q4, I managed three critical projects: annual salary review for 900 employees, job evaluation for newly created data science roles, and market positioning analysis for our acquisition integration. I created a project timeline with weekly milestones and assigned specific team members to each workstream. For the salary review, I automated data collection reducing manual work by 60%. The job evaluation required collaboration with hiring managers to define role requirements. The acquisition project needed benchmarking 45 roles against our existing framework. I delivered all projects on schedule, with the salary review completed 3 days early and 98% manager satisfaction on the job evaluation outcomes.
